Rüdiger Kriz (born 15 April 1886) was a former soldier in the Verteidigungsstaffel of Rotgeheim. He fought in the 10 Days War, during which he received numerous decorations for heroism and gallantry in battle.
He married another soldier of the Verteidiungsstaffel, Viktoria Müller, in 1905. They had no children together, and divorced in 1914.
During the Northern Territory War, while his division was deployed in Finnmarck, it was discovered that Kriz was fraternizing with enemy soldiers and providing intelligence to them. The intelligence that was compromised due to Kriz' traitorous actions resulted in the deaths of several dozen Rotgeheiman soldiers. When Rotgeheiman intelligence agents discovered the treason committed by Kriz, Feldgendarmerie quickly apprehended him. Captured Fuerstenburg troops, the intercepted communications, and several other pieces of intelligence provided enough cause to indict Kriz and find him guilty of treason. After a brief trial, Kriz was demoted from Untersturmführer (Second Lieutenant) to Schütze (Private), spent several months in prison, and was executed via firing squad in July 1915 in Stettin, Rotgeheim.
