The Liberal Socialist Party is one of the biggest parties in West Osea. It was founded shortly before the end of the Osean Civil War, by Vincent Harling, former President of Osea and leader of a Socialist break-away faction of the Liberal Democrats and the Socialist Party, hence the name "Liberal Socialist Party". Under Harling, the party was led to 4 election victories, serving a total of 20 years in office until 188NE, when they were defeated by Frederick Miller and the Labour Party. However, after the recession of 192NE, Kenneth Whitehall led them back into office at the 193NE General Election, and stepped down as President and Party Leader before the 198NE election, in which they were led by Jim Murphy to an even greater majority in the House of Commons.
