He managed the numerous family properties, as well as presiding over some important institutions, such as the National Association of Landowners and the Association of the Nobility of Thurwald. He was also a keen sportsman, sailing every year in the Halvan Cup as well as regattas in Ostis. In addition, he and his wife supported many charities in Thurwald and the local area.

Gabriel, Prince von Hohenburg (1891-1977) was a Braslander nobleman. He was the son of Hereditary Prince Adam von Hohenburg and his wife, Baroness Isabella Vinegri.

In 1932 he married the young Duchess Martha von Kerlich, daughter of Duke Alfred von Kerlich and Princess Geraldine of Brasland. They had ten children: Helena (born 1934), Adam (born 1935), Rosita (born 1937; married to Count Andreas von Innerwitz), Marie Therese (born 1939), Michael (born 1941), Heinrich (born 1943), Philipp (born and died 1945), Pilar (born 1946), Auguste (born 1949) and Felix (born 1953).
