The Grand Duchy of Dragonia is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Grand Duke Jeymian Drachenberg III with an even hand, and notable for its public floggings, unlimited-speed roads, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cheerful population of 6.133 billion Dragonians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The large, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Environment, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Weyrcliff. The average income tax rate is 96.2%.

The all-consuming Dragonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,197 trillion Galleons a year, is quite specialized and mostly made up of the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Trout Farming, and Furniture Restoration. Average income is an impressive 195,278 Galleons, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists, politicians have to be granted day-release from prison to speak on bills, students are known to arrive at school in their pyjamas, and administrative districts are increasingly defined by their taste in housing architecture. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dragonia's national animal is the Dragonhawk, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Druidicism.
