Vyrmshire is a large country in the North part of Asia, comprising a lot of land. In the grand scheme of things, Vyrmshire doesn’t hold as much land as some, but the land it does hold, is all frozen and bitterly cold with miles and miles of ice in all directions. Vyrmshire’s closest neighbours include Gundaou and SLATTSENW, with Ivy_Hinterlands down in the South.

Vyrmshire was, since 20Ad until 90AD, a prison colony used by neighbouring kingdoms, to send their worst. The tribes of Vyrmshire constantly bickered with each other, but came together to fight back against the criminals. The two sides then united, to fight back against the kingdoms that shipped the criminals there. Thus, Vyrmshire was made its own nation from the kingdoms around it. Over time, Vyrmshire united as firmly as it could to be a full-fledged nation.

Vyrmshire is a highly religious nation, devoted thoroughly to the Order of the Wolf, a religion that is nearly exclusive to Vyrmshire. The country is highly militarised and boasts a powerhouse economy. The Vyrmishran armed forces are the second deadliest in the world, sitting right behind SLATTSENW's prestigious military might.

History

Founding

History first records Vyrmshire as popping into existence in the late year of 90AD. After Emperor Karn died in the early months of 90AD (Due to an unknown disease), his brother, Emperor Weith came to power. A brave general of the empire that owned Vyrmshire at the time, a general named Vyrmish, slew Emperor Karn and fled to Vyrmshire where he declared it its own country. The country named itself after him, while the neighbouring countries called Vyrmish “The Mad” for going to the country. In fate's love of irony, he froze to death three years later.

The Krian Dynasty(90AD-921AD)

The Krian Dynasty was a powerful Empire. After Emperor Vyrmish froze to death, his son, Castlenon, took control. The reign of the Krian was mostly uneventful, with the only events of significance occurring being the founding of cities underground and the murder of Emperor Vik the Spoiled by his brother Grif the Warrior. The dynasty was much loved by the people of the nation, but, as they say, all good things come to an end. Or, a more traditional Vyrmshire phrase, even the best waters freeze. The Krian Dynasty could have ruled for all time, but Emperor Khaj V was devoted to his wife, who was infertile, so they had no offspring.

The Cryod Dynasty (1003AD-1281AD)

The Cryods were plagued by bad luck after they took the throne when Khaj V died. Emperor Cryod I was plagued by an illness shortly after taking the throne and his eldest son died of a mysterious illness. Their dynasty was much shorter lived than the powerful Krians. However, the Cryod Dynasty was still much loved by the populace. Until Emperor Vera the Oppressive took the throne, the leaders were rather decent, as far as emperors went in those days.

The Cirsa Dynasty (1282AD-1616AD)

The Cirsa Dynasty was unique in the fact that during its 334 year reign, it was ruled exclusively by women, which was unique for the time. Empress Cirsa founded the dynasty in 1282 after overthrowing Emperor Vera the Oppressive. Her descendant, Empress Alessia, was overthrown in the Vyrmishran Revolution of 1616. The Cirsa dynasty met its fate due to the fact that Vyrmishran people did not like being ruled over by foreigners.

The First Governing(1616AD-1630AD)

The First Governing was when the Vyrmishran peoples overthrew the Cirsa empire in an attempt to make their own, self-governing state. It ended poorly, due to the weak armies set up by the bickering lot that called itself a government. It was then taken over by King Rash in 1630, to everybody's relief.

The V’kai Takeover (1630AD-1800AD)

The V’kai takeover, led by King Rash was a massive success. The country basically ran to join Rash after the First Governing’s mess of a rule. Though, in due course, the people decided they wanted a new Government and the last of the V’kai, King Bel the Humorous, graciously agreed to step down. The King was allowed to continue with his existence and was even given a post under the new Chancellorship Government.

The Chancellorships (1800AD-1830AD)

This was the new government the people agreed to live under. It could have lasted a long time but petty disputes amongst those that made Vyrmshire meant that laws had to be re-drafted and the position titles changed. So began the New Government. The Chancellorship age was based upon the First Governing merged with the concept of kings, with the chancellors basically holding absolute power, once chosen into office. However, like many nations today, the terms could only last four years.

The New Government (1830AD-Present)

The (so far) final major change to the governmental institution is that what most people know today. After the minor changes, Vyrmshire made massive military upgrades, so as not to be caught off-guard again. The most major change in The New Government was that the people were brought to the world and introduced. Since then, Vyrmshire has been present on some of the most major events in recent history. The New Government Chancellors hold executive power and generally make the decisions for the country, but are elected and work with a council (Covered in Politics)
