The Government of Imperial Lyndonia and Montefalco, commonly referred to as The People's Government or ILAM Government, is the central government of The People's Republic of Imperial Lyndonia and Montefalco.
The Government functions under the framework established by the 1922 Constitution of ILAM, as amended. It is led by the Prime Minister as the head of Government, who selects all the remaining ministers. The President and Presidential Regent are mainly ceremonial with limited powers and are regarded as an institutions of the state rather than an administrative post. All ministers, including the Prime Minister, sit it parliament and are accountable to it. The Prime Minister, the Presidential Regent, and the Secretaries of State sit as members of the highest policy-coordinating body of the State, the Presidium. On the other hand, the Prime Minister and the other ministers sit as members of the Chamber of the Ministers, the highest executive decision-making body.
The Legislative Branch is the People's National Parliament, locally known as the Blurschtriek. It follows the bicameral set-up with upper and lower houses. The upper house is the Hall of Councillors or the Kraignow and the lower house is the Hall of Keys or the Pleinow. The members of parliament are elected on a hybrid of proportional and plurality system.
The Judicial Branch is led by the Supreme Court, which comprises 15 justices including the Chief Justice. The Constitutional Tribunal is a special judicial body with limited jurisdiction established by the Constitution to decide only on cases involving constitutional issues, statutes, and administrative/executive issuances. The tribunal is regarded of the same level as the Supreme Court but is most of the time considered outside of the Judicial Branch.
