Georg von Schmidt

Georg von Schmidt (born 1942) is a Braslander businessman. He is the son of Dag von Schmidt.

After graduating from Rottendorf College, he studied Business Management in Markund and quickly started to work for the Schmidt Group.

In 1973 he married Magdalene Lausewski. They have three daughters: Beatrix (born 1974), Charlotte (born 1976) and Paula (born 1980).

Georg has focused on the media branch of the Schmidt empire. He succeeded his father in 1991 as Chairman of the Board of The Markund Times, Brasland's most important newspaper. He retired from this in 2012 and was succeeded by his daughter Beatrix.
