Second Draconnis Combine Civil War and the Combine Conflict

The Second Draconnis Combine Civil War and the Combine Conflict, sometimes abbreviated as simply "the DC Conflict", was a major war in Itevia initially between Loyalist Forces of Emperor Draconnis and Rebel Forces led by Princess Nattalia Draconnis but later with the additional support of several Fascist paramilitary groups to loyalist forces and of Mordakia, Norgang and Agious Topius to the 'Inner Circle' Rebel Forces.

Beginning

The Conflict Began when Emperor Draconnis contracted a mental illness and began violent purges of his countrymen. He also ordered purges of his own family and began to isolate the DC from the rest of the world. Eventually, Inner Circle Forces who were made up of the defected sections of the Combine armed forces, attempted a coup and began weeks of violent fighting. Little information emerged from the inside but an estimate of 1 to 1.5 million lives were lost.

Combine Genocides

Emperor Draconnis sought to quell political opposition or anything he deemed to be political opposition as well as withdrawing the DC from the rest of Itevia. Large genocides commenced against foreigners and political dissenters. To a lesser extent, this also happened in Kuritastan.

Conflict

The Inner Circle Forces eventually captured Totolon and Aivet after originating around Kalisa. However, the Imperial Forces of the Combine fought with determination and held out in the besieged cities for weeks. Many now consider their actions to also have been ruthless because of operations such as the bombing of Kalisa with hundreds of canisters of napalm, 15,000 tons of iron bombs and chemical weapons. After capturing Totolon, Inner Circle Forces significantly reduced the air power of the Imperial DC and loyalist forces were unable to perform any more large airstrikes.

Rebels swept across the rest of the DC but were repulsed by the loyalist forces who had regrouped to defend the Island and City of Halidara. The Island of Halidara succesfully defended against two attempted amphibious landings and loyalist force reclaimed 7 remote islands that were poorly garrisoned by the Inner Circle Forces.

International Intervention

The United Kingdom of Mordakia and Federal Republic of Norgang declared war on the Draconnis Combine after the emperor deployed his entire naval fleet and executed several members of his family. Mordakian and Norgan airstrikes began shortly after and Agious Topius sent aircraft shortly after that. Norgang performed the most military operations whilst Mordakian jets conducted several key air raids and Mordakian Taranis Drones were responsible for 723 airstrikes. Norgan Taranis Drones, ZERO Jets and Rawkers also conducted a total of 432 airstrikes whilst the Norgan Navy single-handedly handled the surrender of the DC navy and the Norgan Federal Forces Marines single-handedly invaded several remote islands that were held by the loyalist forces. Conclusion

After Three weeks of Punitive international military operations which culminated with the carpet bombing of Halidara and the invasion of four islands, the emperor was assassinated by rebel special forces whilst hiding in his palace. Loyalist forces largely laid down their arms apart from in a few minor skirmishes and three hours later, humanitarian air drops from Mordakia and Norgang began.

Aftermath

Mordakia drafted the Natallia Plan to help rebuild the DC over five years, the nation is currently operating with an interim government.
