Ferdinand Arthur Ziegler (12 April 1868 – 18 September 1914) was a Rotgeheiman Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Verteidigungsstaffel. He served in the 13th VS-Mountain Division Dinslaken for the entirety of his career, serving initially as a Leutnant (Second Lieutenant) in the reconnaissance battalion and eventually rising through the ranks to become the Divisional Operations and Training Officer. He was killed in action during the fighting against Fuerstenburg forces in the Battle for Bellock, in which his armored car was struck by an incoming shell from an enemy tank.
