Élite League One is the highest division of the Élite League and the Paripana football league system. Founded in 2139 by Capitalizt SLANI and Jasĭyun as the Capitalizt Élite League, it is the second-oldest football league in continuous operation, after the Elven Premier League. Since 2163, it has been organized by the Paripana Sporting Council, which gave it its present name. Élite League One has produced the most Champions’ Cup and Globe Cup winners of any league.
Under the present format in use since 2230, the league includes sixteen teams which play a home-and-away round-robin over a two-year season. The bottom two teams are relegated and replaced by the top two teams in Élite League Two. The top finishers qualify for the Champions’ Cup, depending on the number of places allocated to PSC member associations by the UICA coëfficient ranking, and the six next-highest finishers qualify for the Globe Cup.
