The dissolution of the Sibarian Union occurred on 31 December 1992, officially granting self-governing independence to the Republics of the United Sibarian Socialist Republics (USSR). The declaration by President Yosev Narziyabi acknowledged the independence of the former Soviet republics and the proclamation of the new Sibaria. During his speech, Sibarian President Yosev Narziyabi, the final leader of the USSR, resigned and declared his office extinct and handed over its powers to President Yani Tominov. That evening at 9:32 p.m., the Socialist flag was lowered from the Krepost for the last time and replaced with the old Sibarian Republic Flag.
