The 2014 Narsoran airstrikes on Gonzalez Isle is part of the Narsora-Torisakia Crisis that erupted in mid-2014, The Narsora National Air Force launched airstrikes on the Torisakian controlled archipelago of Gonzalez Isle. The attacks were launched by Narsora to forcibly reclaim the island, which they claim Torisakia illegally occupied.
Background
Tensions between the countries of Narsora and Torisakia have been strained for several years over the other's policies. In 2012 the Torisakian military began occupying the island, a move which although claimed by the narsoran government was illegal went largely ignored. Despite this the narsoran military took no action, wanting to "avoid unnecessary conflict". In late-2014 tensions between the two countries heightened when after being demanded to hand over the island's control to Narsora, Torisakia refused.
Airstrikes
Narsoran military airstrikes began early morning on September 27th, 2014. The strikes were conducted against torisakian military targets, in order to force torisakia to surrender the island. This was followed a day later by a ground invasion of Gonzalez Isle.
