Abakamoso, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Abakamoso, is a landlocked country located in central Gondwana. It is bordered by Oynenyua to the north, Nambutu to the east, and Matamba and Tsumebia to the south. The capital and largest city is Tillanni. Though the nation is landlocked, it maintains a small force of naval vessels to defend Lake Motuma.
Since the early 11th Century, Abakamoso's current location has been the site of several kingdoms and organized states, as well as a major trade route. Abakamoso was once a region within the Oynenyuan Free State, and remained part of the country until late 1955. The Oynenyuan Free State endured a nearly 22 year long civil war, which resulted in the de jure independence of Abakamoso on August 15, 1977. Abakamoso is a member of the Common Market for Central Gondwana and the Teyani Pact.
Dagmawi Melaku became President of Abakamoso in 2001 following the death of Abdi Leul Berehanu, the second President of Abakamoso and a veteran of the Oynenyuan Civil War. Melaku has maintained an authoritarian regime, and the state security apparatus has dominated the country and been responsible for widespread human rights violations.
