Antoine de Courtenay

Prince Antoine de Courtenay (1865-1926) was the son of Princess Sophie Helena of Brasland.

He was quite an interesting character, as he not only managed the family estate, but also painted, play several instruments, studied astronomy and sailed. Apart from this, he went on several expeditions to the South Pacific and Australia. He served in the Royal Navy for many years.

In 1888 he married Anne de Pontblanc. They had five children: Robert (born 1889), Sophie (born 1890), Philippe (born 1892; priest), Olga (born 1893) and Joseph (born 1898).

He died in 1926.
