The Asendavian Armed Forces is the military service of the Kingdom of Asendavia, established after the unification of the Asendavian city-states. On 3 September 548 A.A, Hjalmar Harstad signed a decree establishing the Asendavian Armed Forces and putting all troops under the control of Asendavia's vassals under the control of Asendavia. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is the King of Asendavia. The Asendavian Armed Forces was formed in 548 A.A.

Personnel

I, (name), a citizen of the Kingdom of Asendavia, by joining the ranks of the Asendavian Armed Forces; take an oath and solemnly swear to be an upright, brave, disciplined, vigilant soldier, to strictly preserve military and government secrets, and to execute without, contradiction, all military regulations and orders of commanders and superiors. I swear to learn conscientiously the trade of war, to protect with all means the military and peoples' property, and to be devoted to my people, my Asendavian homeland, and the Kingdom to my last breath. I will always be ready to report, by order of the Kingdom, as a soldier of the Asendavian Armed Forces for the defense of my homeland, the Kingdom of Asendavia. I swear to defend it bravely and wisely with all my strength and in honor, without sparing my blood and without regard for my life to achieve a complete victory over the enemy. Should I break my solemn oath, may severe penalties of Asendavian Law, the overall hatred, and the contempt of the Kingdom strike me.

The Oath which all conscripts take upon service in the Asendavian Armed Forces.

Conscription is used in Asendavia; the term of service being 24 months; and eligible age is between 18 and 27 years old. Deferments are provided to undergraduate and graduate students, people solely supporting disabled relatives, parents of at least two children and people holding Ph.D.

Royal Asendavian Army

The Royal Asendavian Army is one of the three branches of the Asendavian military. It's foundation began in 548 A.A, following the unification of the Asendavian city-states. Comprised mainly of inherited equipment, not many advances had been made aside from electronics and soldier comfort. One point that made Skrebićia's military a joke was the use of footwraps instead of wool socks. The Premier, a former soldier and general, has made amends to shape the National Army into a more efficient fighting machine. One of the major changes came through mundane means. The issuing of wool socks to every member of the military became standard, along with body armor. These moves have reduced the elitism formerly present between officers and enlisted.

This force uses the Dutch Shepherd dog for general guard and detection roles. It isn't uncommon for frontline units and security to be issued an attack dog. All dogs in use today are paired with a single individual after their training. This person is called a handler. While a handler usually won't stay with one dog for the length of either's career, usually a handler will stay partnered with a dog for at least a year, and sometimes much longer.
