The Auroran-Pacific War (often abbreviated to APW), and sometimes associated with being the Second Auroran Imperial War, although without vindication, was an armed conflict in Aurora and the Pacific Ocean. It involves the vast majority of Auroran countries as well as the former members of the now-defunct SEPCF, eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.

Beginning stages

During the end of May 2017, the Greater Xagrurgian Empire illegitimately seized the Xagrurgian government. However, the war is generally said to have begun on the 31st of May when Staynes held an emergency meeting which officially declared an allegiance between Great Morstaybishlia, the Oan Isles, Axdel, Tretrid, Kuthernburg and Stratarin (under the Premier of Viktor Drugov) against the axis. During the emergency meeting and after the pledged allegiance of Stratarin to the allies, Rurik Lukin, the First Deputy Premier of Stratarin and acting First Premier and General Secretary was murdered, leading the next-in-line minister, Mikhail Starikov to assume office until the return of Drugov. Starikov announced he would not surrender his position and revoked his allegiance with the allies.

Meanwhile, Ethalrian operatives shot and killed Thadeus, the crown prince of Great Morstaybishlia. Later investigation suggested that the bullet that killed Thadeus may have been intended for Lambertus VII, the king of the United Kingdom. The assassination rocked the Morstaybishlian political landscape and lead to military action on the border between Staynes-Caltharus and Ethalria.

The War in Aurora

After the remaining republican Xagrurgian government fled into hiding, The Xagrurgians invaded the islands of Yor, and, after the death of their president, Owen Tubolt, Xagrurg took full control over Yor. With nowhere to go, the already exiled President of the Republican Xagrurgian government, Bob Jones, went into hiding. With the reestablishment of the Republic of Xagrurg, the exiled President returned to the new formed government.

A little while later, the Oan Isles, Furnifold, and Kuthernberg conquered the southernmost island of Yor, establishing the Southern Yor Republic, with Votslef as head-of-state. With the Southern Yor Republic on the southern half of the island, the remnants of the Republican Xagrurgian government was given control of the northern half. After using the island as a foothold, they, joined by the Tretridians, invaded the island to their northeast, but were met by Greater Xagrurgian forces. Kostromastan was convinced into joining the war by Greater Xagrurg. Shortly after, Asendavia joined the Allies. After some fighting, a ceasefire was established, and the Allies retreated from the island. After a couple of days, the fighting resumed when the Oan Isles flew drones over GXE airspace and attacked civilian and military targets, resulting in GXE forces taking over the MBE DMZ and invasion and overrunning South Yor. PKFU forces from the MBE DMZ however attacked Eidenburgh but led to many GXE forces from nearby military bases attacking the Allied forces. In a skirmish outside of Eidenburgh, most of the GXE's navy was destroyed although the aircraft carriers made it to Cardboard, Bielarus mostly intact and the GXE nuclear submarines all over Aurora remain untouched. Kostromastan surrendered and made peace with the allies shortly after the three northern cities of Volgoda, Nal'Chik, and Novgorod having been victims of a series of airstrikes by allied forces.

Invasion of Ethalria

Promptly after the assassination of Prince Thadeus, the Staynish-Caltharus Empire began the invasion of Ethalria, with help from allies Lokania and later Kuthernburg forces. The first five weeks saw the takeover of Avenai and Arkenvel, resulting in 24,000 allied casualties and 31,200 axis. On the 15th of August, The Zenzdak was taken over on occupied Ethalrian land, which saw intense retaliation in the Seven Day Skirmish.

On the 16th of August, Kuthernburg, as well as Nacata but under Kuthernburg jurisdiction, began invasions using Kostrom military bases. After getting past a small border blockade, the Battle of Rorikton began. As of September, the allies have gained 5,600 casualties, whilst the axis 6,140. It was a city-based conflict.

On the 26th of August, Great Morstaybishlia began the Battle of Karinthus. It ended on the 7th of October, with an estimated one hundred thousand casualties on both sides. Lokanian troops were deployed on the western front with an estimated four thousand casualties.

In mid October, the Allies held a week and a half invasion into the Ethalrian capital city of Rivendale. On the 24th of October, the Ethalrian government surrendered. Amalda Harimann was never found and was expected to have retreated into Yasteria. The Ethalrian War Cabinet held trials in the Morstaybishlian Justice System, landing life for multiple charges of war crimes without parole. The Empire came to decision to rewrite the Ethalrian constitution to reestablish democracy in the region. Ethalria was split into four countries; Vothetria, Faethalria, Thalria and Kothalria.

The War in Atlantia

Four nations, Kerlington, Charton, Minedestives, and Liber Yorvus declared war on The Atlae Isles, causing Tretrid to declare war on the four nations shortly afterwards. On July 1st, when President Stephen Yang was inaugurated, the forces of the four nations conquered the Atlaesian fort Fort Michaels. The nations then declared their allegiance to the Axis.

On the morning of July 2, 2017, Kerlington, Mindestives, and Charton sent planes to bomb the Allied ships in the port of Fort Mercer. The Allies were able to create a defense, resulting in the Battle of Fort Mercer. The Allies, however, took heavy losses.

When Kuthernburg bombed Kerlington, they retaliated by bombing Atlaesian civilian establishments.

To retaliate for the bombing of Fort Mercer, the Tretridians and Atlaesians responded by launching Operation Payday, and managed to either capture or destroy the entire Chartonian 8th Fleet, which had all their aircraft carriers.
