Worldvision 63-65

Besen had always been a nation, broadcasting or streaming the contests, since Worldvision 60. However, it wasn't until the 63rd edition came around, BSS stepped in to make a debut. Erica (Erica Rodman) was selected later in the sign-up process to represent Besen. She had prepared for a long time though, having her song played on Besenian radio, performing live at Besenian festivals etc. When she arrived on the scene of Worldvision 63, performing as number 6, she brought the energy and attitude. Her song, an upbeat pop track about overcoming a broken heart, faired reasonably well amongst the WV community- picking up 48 points- and placing 12th. BSS felt a certain joy, yet sadness that they had put in so much effort to then be rejected from at least the top 10. And so, they decided to put in more effort for better results. After their twelfth place finish of the last edition, BSS had a meeting to discuss the future of Besen in the contest. They said "We must bring something different." and they did. KRENA (Hans Krenas) had been producing and putting out popular alternative music for years. BSS approached him a few weeks after Erica's turn was up, and they immediately began working on the song. "I Live for You" became the one track in mind for Besen to use. KRENA was then confirmed as well as the release of the song. Craig Henisi turned up in Nekoni as the stage director of KRENA'S performance, choreographing the routine and directions. He performed well, and was positively critiqued- ending the night with 61 points, in 11th place. The improvement of results lifted the spirits of Besenians and BSS itself. They promised something higher impact for the next edition. After the long process of Besarfest (the one-time Besenian NF), three semi finals and a grand finale, Celine was chosen to represent her country with the song "We are the Fighters". It discusses the taboo topics of sexual assault and abuse and the manipulation of people. She performed 13th on the night, waving her flag in the middle of the show. At the end of the night, she had racked up the most points of any Besenian entry, yet the worst result so far. It was due to this that BC1 decided to take a 5 edition break to fix internal issues. Celine was also the first Besenian entry to pick up any 12 points.

Worldvision 70, Lori

Out of the blue, towards the end of the sign-up process, BC1 announced their plans to have a comeback in the competition. Ditching the national final process Besarfest, the broadcaster went for Lori to represent Besen, singing 'Tempo'. Little was known about the up-and-coming artist. The hope was that a top 10 finish would reignite Besenian confidence in participation of Worldvision. She performed 3rd on the night, and ended the night at 11th place, the second best placing for Besen ever, with 51 points. This removed any doubt in future participation for BC1, whom were proud of their finish and looked forward to the next edition.

Worldvision 71, OLA

The first appearance of the 'Cana dor Besein' selection format. BC1 wanted to hype up their entry in the same way they did in WV65 with Celine. After a two week process, the winner was finally decided. It was OLA with her thumping track, 'Durem (La La)', performing 7th in the running order. During the voting procedure, OLA was extremely happy with her support, Besen were getting quite a few points, and up until the middle of voting, every nation had given the song some love. BC1 became confident in a top 10 finish, which quickly shortened into a top 5. Main Nation Ministry revealed the winner, and the second place was indeed Besen. Commentators went nuts, everybody in BC1 was calling their parents to say that they'd finally done it. All the money spent on the national final process had worked in some capacity. 96 points assured Besen's best placing ever in Worldvision. OLA returned at Lipa International Airport a national hero, swarmed by an army of fans who had seen every moment of her journey. She secured a place in Besen's hall of fame with her finish. After all this, the broadcaster retracted their statement that claimed "Cana dor Besein" would be called off, and instead began to promote the show on social media again - opening up a new Twitter account, after they had previously disabled it. They promised, however, some radical changes to the process, which would be known shortly when nations could express their intentions for the next contest.

Worldvision 72, Giovanni Able

It had been a while since OLA's tremendous performance had given Besen it's best result ever and BC1 looked to continue the Cana dor Besein format, which proved to be successful. The 72nd edition of the national final gave the spotlight to a more alternative crowd and the eight songs seemed varied from what might usually be expected from a Besenian entry - which caused mixed responses. Early on, Giovanni Able became the frontrunner with his song 'A menudo' and the track had already created hype on the charts, usually a shock for a national final song. The song took a techno-pop approach that impressed many on the night of the show, and he topped both sets of points from the public and the international jury vote. After his win, BC1 revealed it's intentions to bid to host the 72nd contest - ultimately a success. The broadcaster were hopeful in continuing their result with Giovanni and spent the most money on their stage performance than ever before. The scoreboard at the end of the exciting night left Besen in the 10th position; Besenians were disappointed yet optimistic. 10th seemed like the middling result that the country usually receives, so it left mixed emotions for everybody involved. Still BC1 looked to the 73rd contest for their next move.

Worldvision 73, Leona

The 73rd edition of Cana dor Besein is widely considered it's most lacklustre and ultimately wasn't successful in terms of ratings nor charts. It's winner, Leona with her song 'Butterfly' was to go to The Estograd in Estogium to represent her country. A quiet success, the delegation's plans were well received and in rehearsals it seemed that the hype was building. She performed 24th on the actual night, just before the eventual winner Britonisea, then towards the middle of the voting it seemed like Leona would be given an average result once again, only to be overturned later. 3rd was another fantastic result and solidified Besen's place as a real contender in the competition. 103 points are the most that the country has ever received.

Worldvision 74, La Force Femme

Briefly, producers considered pulling the plug on the Cana dor Besein format, to head into a higher scale national selection process that would supposedly ensure consistency in results. However, a lack of funds meant that they were practically forced into producing another Cana dor Besein show and with little time to spend searching for the songwriters that usually are available, six songs were chosen that were notably weaker than the previous. On the night of the show, La Force Femme were seen as the clear favourites, and ended up winning with a second place jury finish and a high televote win. Their song, "The Strong Woman" was dismissed by critics as not competitive and ultimately old-fashioned, in a year that was looking tougher than ever. On record, BC1 spent the lowest amount of money to aid the three girls in Polkopia. 20th position was quite favourable in the running order, but by the end there was a cold reception from both commentators and Besenians. Throughout the voting section, La Force Femme picked up 70 points, landing Besen in it's third 11th place finish. Although frustrating, it was to be expected and ultimately was down to the fault of the delegation.
