The Theocracy of Bourun, commonly just referred to as Bourun, is an Islamic state that shares borders with its two main rivals: Ivlya and Stratarin. While not to the degree of Ivlya, Bourun has a market economy; however, this is held back by several pre-industrial policies such as no women being allowed in the workplace. Its military is relatively small, though it has an extensive network of state-sanctioned mercenary firms that it hires out to foreign nations and often uses for Bouruni affairs.
