Prince Christoph of Brasland (1942-2004) was the son of Prince Alexander Ulrich of Brasland.

In 1967 he married Countess Mathilde von Weisseck. They had four children: Frederick (born 1969), Olga (born 1970; married to Adrian IX, Emperor of Urcea), Astrid (born 1972) and Albert (born 1974). The marriage was very tense and Christoph drank too much, sometimes beating his wife.

He was a difficult person and idolized his uncle, the controversial Prince Rudolf.

The prince opposed his cousin, King Paul II, and made plans to depose him and install a constitutional monarchy. However, his plans were discovered and he escaped to The Holding, whose government had tense relations with Brasland. After some years he returned to Brasland, where he was tried for treason and sentenced to prison. He was also stripped of his titles, becoming Mr Christoph Balkronn. While in jail, he orchestrated a media operation to tarnish the image of the King's brother, Prince Ivan.

During his self-imposed exile in The Holding, he and his wife separated. Princess Mathilde, a beloved member of the royal family, was horrified by her husband's actions and was tired of enduring his complicated personality.

In 2002 the prince was given an amnesty by President Olav Palmerson.

He died in 2004.
