History

The company was founded in 1825 by the jeweler Chris Christou. In 1841 Christou presented Emperor George VII with a silver service in honour of the Emperor's fifthteenth birthday. The Silver service was very special because it commerated the Emperor's assumption of his full powers despite his tender age.

In 1844, Chris Christou suppplied the Emperor with a series of gifts for the Emperor's wedding. Over forty years later in 1892, Christou designed another silver service set in honor of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor George VII's sixtieth year on the Imperial Throne during the Diamond Jubilee.
