The Dragon Ball franschise first reached the Democracy of Torisakia and Gonzalez Isle in 1998 with the airing of the anime and the late release of Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension.

Dragon Ball anime

The Dragon Ball anime debuted in Torisakia on March 14, 1998 with Dragon Ball Z, launching it into a nationwide phenomenon. There were two versions broadcast, an English dub and a Native Torisakian dub. Although it would have been easier to recieve the English dub from Funimation, the company that licensed the series for an English release, Torisakia decided to do their own dubs. This became known as the Torisakian English Dub. The dub ran for only a year, after very heavy crticisms about the voice acting pushed Zeniko Films, the company who licensed the series in Torisakia, to switch over to the Funimation dub. Zeniko Films also attempted their own dubs with Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT; all of which met the same fate.

On April 28, 2015 a new Dragon Ball series created by Akira Toriyama titled Dragon Ball Super was announced and slated for a July 2015 release in Japan. While Funimation is likely to provide an English dub, it is unknown if Zeniko Films will attempt a Native Torisakian dub or not pending if it sees a Torisakian premiere. Dragon Ball Super is expected to premiere in Torisakia and Gonzalez Isle sometime in 2016; however, there is a chance that it will not see a release due to the low popularity of foreign imported cartoons and networks that refuse to air them for the same reason. Rumors state that the iON4 network, a variety broadcasting network in Torisakia lauched in 1993 by Piwcir Corp, was looking to pick the series up but quickly denied the rumor via social media.

All of the movies, except for Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F which has yet to been released in the country, have premiered on television, rather than seeing theatrical releases like in Japan, and released on DVD and video.

Toonami

Toonami is an extension of Cartoon Network Torisakia (usually just called Cartoon Network within the country). It served as the main programming block for the Dragon Ball series (except 'Dragon Ball Kai which aired on Cartoon Network Torisakia solely), airing new episodes every weekday in their afterschool block (3:00pm-5:30pm. The show usually aired about 3:30pm, with a rerun at 5:00pm). Toonami aired all of the episodes for all three series and the Zeniko and Funimation dubs from 1998 until 2007.

In 2008, Toonami went off their air, and stayed off until 2012 when it was brought back in Torisakia. It now airs on Friday nights from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, and aired reruns of Dragon Ball Z from 2012-2015. Currently, no network broadcasts the series and it is unlikely one will pick it up due to networks avoiding airing foreign imported cartoons due to low popularity.

Dragon Ball manga

The Dragon Ball manga in Torisakia is imported from the United States by Viz Media, which released the chapters in tankōbon format. To avoid confusion, Viz Media changed the name of the last 26 volumes to "Dragon Ball Z", and both were released simultaneously.
