Eric Maleinos, 43rd Duke of Cappadochia

Eric Maleinos, 43rd Duke of Cappadochia, Template:Post-nominals (22 November 1852 – 15 March 1919), styled Baron Koloneia until 1861 and Earl of Tyana and Kòrama after this he was Duke of Cappadochia from 1865 until his dead, was a member of the Diadochian Vénetoi Party and a leading conservative politician and philanthropist. He served as Postmaster General between 1900 and 1905, but is best remembered for his numerous philanthropic works.


Early life

Cappadochia was the eldest son of Eric Maleinos, 42nd Duke of Cappadochia, and Marie Angelica D'Laval The Duke was educated at Odysséa College.


Political career

Cappadochia succeeded to the dukedom in 1865 on the death of his father. He also at the same time succeeded to the hereditary office of Megas Domestikos held by the Dukes of Cappadochia for centuries. In 1895 he was made a member of the Privy Council of Diadochia.

Apart from serving as Megas Domestikos between 1865 and 1919, was also made a Knight of the Panagia in 1888.
