Friedrich, Prince von Fürstenstein (1813-1886) was the son of Prince Johannes II von Fürstenstein.

In 1836, he married Countess Maria Crescentia von Fitzpatrick. They had ten children: Florentine (b. 1838), Karl (b. 1840), Sophie (1841-1842), Franziska (1842-1844), Ferdinand (b. 1844), Luise (b. 1846), Philipp (born and died 1847), Ida (b. 1850, nun), Henriette (b. 1852) and Lukas (b. 1855, monk). Maria Crescentia was a strict disciplinarian, and unlike Friedrich she had no particular inclination towards the arts, except for religious music. Despite this, their marriage was successful, although she was not remembered warmly by their children.

Friedrich continued his ancestors' policy of increasing the family collection. During the disputes between the Crown and Parliament, he sided with none officially, although he was privately known to support Parliament's rights. His wife, a believer in the divine right of kings, sided with the Crown.

He died in 1886.
