Frorkstolm, also known as Princes Island is an island and hundreds of islets and rocks that sits in the Caven Sea and lies north of Staynes and south of Justelvard that forms a jurisdiction. The jurisdiction is not apart of Staynes, however defence and most foreign relations are handled by the Staynish Government.
Frorkstolm has been inhabited since before 4000 BC. Frorkic cultural influence began in the 6th century. It was occupied by the Staynish around the year 1014. It was invaded seven times from 1239 to 1489 by Caltharus in attempts to use the island to fortify their naval prowess. The Staynish successfully defended all invasions which crippled the Caltharusian army and navy, which led to the fall of the Caltharusian monarchy.
In 1984 the island appealed for some sort of self-governance like its neighbours, the Necraties Islands and after 5 years of political debate was granted its request. The island now has a thriving economy that relies and trades with the Staynish-Caltharus Empire.
The island adopted the nickname Princes Island when the Island became a principality under the monarchy, where the monarchs son would rule. This lasted for a few hundred years until 1913.
Government
Staynes is responsible for the island's defence and ultimately for good governance, and for representing the island in international forums, while the island's own parliament and government have competence over all domestic matters.
Socio-political structure
The island's parliament, Geajjeak, has been in continuous existence since 1989. Geajjeak is a bicameral or tricameral legislature, comprising the House of Lords (directly elected by universal suffrage with a voting age of 16 years) and the Legislative Council (consisting of indirectly elected and ex-officio members). These two bodies meet together in joint session as Geajjeak Court.
The executive branch of government is the Council of Ministers, which is composed of members of Geajjeak. It is headed by the Chief Minister, currently (2016) Johnn McKenton-Abithweyth-Kortel.
Vice-regal functions of the Head of State are performed by a Lieutenant Governor.
Defence
Under Staynish law, Frorkstolm is not part of The United Kingdoms of Greater Staynes and Justelvard. However, the TUK takes care of its external and defence affairs, and retains paramount power to legislate for the island. There are no independent military forces on Frorkstolm. From 1970 to 1975 there was the Frork Regiment of the Morstaybishlian Territorial Army, which saw extensive action during the Auroran Imperial War.
Citizenship
Citizenship in Frorkstolm is governed by Staynish law. Passports issued by the Frorkstolm Passport Office say "Staynish Islands – Frorkstolm" on the cover but the nationality status stated on the passport is simply "Staynish Citizen". Although Frorkish passport holders are Staynish citizens, because Frorkstolm is not part of the Auroran Union, people born on the Island without a parent or grandparent either born, naturalised, registered or resident for more than five consecutive years in the The United Kingdoms of Greater Staynes and Justelvard do not have the same rights as other Staynish citizens with regard to employment and establishment in the AU. Frorkish passports can be issued to any Staynish citizen in Frorkstolm (whether or not that person has "Frork status" as a Frorkish worker under the local Frorkish employment laws). They can also be issued to Frork-connected Staynish citizens residing in Staynes or either of the other Crown Dependencies.
