Gegeia, officially the Federal Republic of Gegeia, is a sovereign state in The Minecraft Allies region. It is the region's most populated country, with a population of over 3 billion. Gegeia is a democratic state, with its seat of government in the capital city of Butterworth. It exercises jusdriction over 3 Federal Territories, and 11 states. It was formed after constitutional amendments, formerly known as Federation of Gegeia.
Covering approximately 9 million square kilometres of land, it is the third largest country in the Region, and the 28th largest in the world. Gegeia's Landscape is vast, ranging from the forests to the mountains and lakes. Mt. Esteem is the tallest mountain in the country, and is often regarded as the "Hell Mountain" due to its harsh surroundings all year round.
The ancient Gegeian civilisation, the Gegeia Empire, is one of the region's earliest. It dates back to around 1353. Full Unification of the Gegeia Empire was achieved in 1434. The Republic of Gegeia overthrew the Empire in 1910, and ruled the Gegeian Mainland until 1945. In 1945, a whole scale cilvil war broke out, and the Republic's Army lost to the Communist Party which led to the established of the People's Republic in the same year. In 1990, the Communist Government was dissolved which led to the establishment of the Federation. In 2014, following constitutional amendments, the Nation title was changed to become Federal Republic.
Gegeia's Economy is one of the fastest growing in the world after economic reforms in the early 1980's. It's GDP growth is the highest in the region. It is a regional power and is often a model to other countries for their economy and defence. Gegeia has been a WA member since 1991, and it is represented in the WA under the name "Gegeia-Butterworth". It is a great power in the world, and a Superpower in the region.

Etymology
The word "Gegeia" was actually derived from the word Gege, meaning "Older Brother" in today's Mandarin. A "-ia" was put behind the word to make it sound more formal.
History
Gegeian Empire (1353-1910)
Archelogical digs suggested that the Gegeia Empire started in around 1353.It suggested that people used arrowheads as knives for cutting fish, vegetables and meat during that era. There are also writing evidence which shows that the Empire was founded during that time. It also suggested that people inhabited Gegeia in the early 1300's. The establishment of the Empire was widely believed to just have a ruler to represent the people.
In 1434, the Gegeian Empire successfully unified the whole of Gegeia. However, Prosperous Island was ceded to Mowel (present-day Watercity) in the year 1834 due to the Treaty of Mowel.
In 1910, a full scale Civil War broke out, ending more than 500 years of imperial rule in Gegeia.
Republic of Gegeia (1910-1945)

The Revolution of 1910, led by Xie Yongchang, officially ended the imperial rule in Gegeia. On 1 August 1910, the Republic of Gegeia was officially established, with Xie Yongchang being the republic's first president. However, the Capital was relocated many times, before settling in Butterworth. In 1940, another full scale Civil War started between the Communists and the Republican Army. In 1944, Prosperous Island was returned to Gegeia after the collapse of Mowel. By 1945, almost the whole country was controlled by the Communists and there left one city left, which is Butterworth. Liang Huangyu, the President of the Republic, seeing its country being taken over by the Communists, retereated his governemnt to Prosperous Island. The communist troops peacefully entered Butterworth. This signifies the end of the Civil war, and the beginning of the existence of two Gegeias.
People's Republic of Gegeia (1945-1990)
On 3 October 1945, following the retreat of the Republic of Gegeia government to Prosperous Island, Duo-la Jun (1897-1994), the founder of the People's Republic of Gegeia, proclaimed the establishment of the People's Republic in Butterworth. Duo introduced a series of reforms, most notably economic reforms in the 1980's before he stepped down due to old age.
Duo encouraged population growth, which saw the country's population booming from only a few thousand to a few million. However, after Duo stepped down in 1983, Gegeia was struggling to cope with its rising population growth and launched the "Stop at Two" campaign which greatly impact the growth of population, from 10,000 babies per year to only 2,000-3,000 babies per year.
Gegeia reunification (1990)
On 23 October 1989, a group of students protested for the dissolution of the People's Republic, calling it illegal. The protest soon joined by many more, and by 25 June 1990, the protests even conquered government buildings, tearing down of the national flag and the state crest. Despite sending large amount of army personnel, it was to no avail. On 30 July 1990, the last President of the PRG, Ng Han Hui, announces the dissolution of the state. On 31 July 1990, Li Xiongyi, announces the establishment of the new Federation of Gegeia on the mainland. Concurrently, on the same day, Prosperous Island residents voted for unity with the mainland. At 12 midnight sharp of 1 August 1990, the Republic of Gegeia's flag on the Prosperous Island, and the PRG flag on the mainland were lowered, and were both replaced by the Federation of Gegeia flag.
Federation of Gegeia (1990-2014)
With the unification of the two Gegeia's, the Federation of Gegeia was formed with three Federal Territories and 11 states. On 1 September 1990, Watercity joined the federation becoming its 12th state. It's Head of State is now the President and the Head of Government is the Prime Minister. On 5th March 2014, Watercity left the Federation for independence following a referendum.
Federal Republic of Gegeia (2014-present)
Constitutional amendments were made to change the "Federation" title to " Federal Republic". The title was officially changed on 1 August 2014.
