Giannakos & Co. is a Diadochian company that manufactures luxury jewellery and silver. Giannakos & Co. was founded in 1696. The company is one of the two Imperial Court Jewellers, the other being, A.E. Kringos. The company has been in operation for over thee hundred years. Over the centuries Giannakos & Co. has been Court Jeweller to six Diadochian emperors and several Pandosian kings.


History

Giannakos & Co. was founded in 1696 by George Giannakos (1659-1722). By the early 1700s the company became known as a goldsmith and provider of jewellery and other luxury items to aristocratic patrons. George Giannakos II, grandson of the founder, became a partner in the company in 1753. George Giannakos II took sole control of the firm in 1763, with his sons George Giannakos III, Leon and Alexios succeeding him in running the company, trading as G., L., & A. Giannakos (or George Giannakos & Brothers) until Leon’ retirement in 1796, when the company became G & A Giannakos. The company remains in the hands of the Giannakos family, with Alexios Giannakos, great-great grandson of George Giannakos III.


In 1762, Empress Zoe II of Diadochia, appointed Giannakos to the position of Imperial Crown Jewellers, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware and jewellery for the Imperial Family of Diadochia, as well as the upkeep of the Crown Jewels.
