Handball is quite a popular sport in Kernansquillec and the nation has known considerable success on the international scene in recent years, with the team finishing runners up at the 14th Handball World Cup. While the domestic league has remained amateur for many years, a new 16 team professional two-leveled championship has been formed which allows teams to qualify for the World Cup of Handball Clubs.

The KHA

The Kernansquillecan Handball Association (KHA) is the body in charge of running the national team and running domestic leagues, both professional and amateur, in Kernansquillec.

The First Division

The First Division is the highest level of handball in Kernansquillec and is composed of eight teams. The bottom two are relegated to the Second Division while the top four teams qualify for the World Cup of Handball Clubs.
