Inquista, officially the Mircrostate of Inquista, is a sovereign microstate and city-state within the European Union. Located upon the central Mediterranean Basin, Inquista is bordered by Iyori to the east, Rimroth to the west, and fully encompasses the Rhinian enclave of Freedom Park. Inquista is by far the smallest nation in the European Union, as it only lays claim to 3082 square kilometers of territory. Saint Dominico, the capital and only city in the nation, covers approximately 99.7% of the country.
Inquista is regarded as one of the European Union's largest commercial hubs, particularly in commercial maritime trade. The Saint Dominico Port is the largest and busiest port in the European Union, importing and exporting well over two billion tonnes of cargo annually. Inquista's globalised and diversified economy depends heavily on international trade, especially manufacturing, which represented 56 percent of Inquista's GDP in 2014. Inquista serves as the largest manufacturer of goods in the European Union, particularly in technology manufacturing. In terms of GDP per capita, Inquista has the third-highest per capita income in the European Union. Inquista is often regarded as the best place to do business, as Inquista is an entirely tax-free haven, with no labour laws, minmum wage laws or labour unions in the country. As such, Inquista has spawned over a thousand self-made billionaires, while simultaneously boasting one of the largest income inequalities in the European Union.
As of August 2014, Inquista is home to over a billion national citizens, 2% of which are foreign-born and have immigrated to the country. While Inquista is diverse, ethnic caucasions predominate: 81.4% percent of the population are white, with significant minorities of Marrakechian, Sahrawi, Iyroian and African ancestry. English and Latin serve as the two official languages of Inquista. Inquista is a secular state and has adopted Inquistan Orthodoxy as its state religion. As of 2014, 99% of Inquistans have regard themselves as "religious" with a further 98% recognising themselves as following the sate religion.
Inquista is a theocratic ecclesiastical constitutional republic, as the Archbishop of the Inquistan Orthodox Church serves as both head of the Church and the head of state of the country. The Archbishop of Inquista also serves as the leader of teh College of Bishops, whom serve as the legislature of the national government.
