Background

In mid-2002 a militant movement known as the Narsora Abolishment Force sprang up but was not deemed a threat at the time. The group stayed out of the government's eye until, mid-2009 they claimed responsibility for a car bombing attack which left 11 people dead and 15 wounded. In 2010 the group also claimed credit for an attack on a narsoran army outpost which killed 10 soldiers and injured 18, this set off the conflict.

Conflict

In July 2010, the military began a campaign to see the defeat of the NAF. This became widely known as the 2010 Narsoran Conflict, and led to a total of 6,605 deaths. The group surrendered after the capture and execution of their leader Julien Vezquez in Operation Majestic Dawn , and relative peace returned. In October 2014 a narsoran aircraft was hijacked and it's passengers taken hostage, and was freed by a special forces raid. This set off a new conflict known as Operation Lightning Bolt this led a to the deaths of 275 people. The insurgency offically ended on October 16th, 2014, after the surrender of the FALN militant group, and it's leaders.

Aftermath

The conflict has caused the deaths of around 14,000 people, as well as economic consequences.
