Johannes II, Prince von Fürstenstein (1786-1857) was the son of Prince Karl von Fürstenstein.

He was born on the same year that his father became Prince von Fürstenstein. His parents held prominent positions at court, so he grew up very close to his cousins, the royal princes and princesses. Like his mother, he was a keen collector and a patron of artists and intellectuals. He expanded Tremstadt Palace, the family's country home, which became so large that it rivalled even with Burg Kerlich.

Johannes married Princess Florentine von Altenhaus, who was regarded by many as the ideal noblewoman: dutiful, pious and obedient, while at the same time beautiful, kind and modestly charming.

After his death, he was succeeded by his son, Friedrich.
