The Leftist Defence Force, often abbreviated to the LDF, is the gameplay military force of The Leftist Assembly. The organisation is tasked with defending allied leftist regions and invading fascist and capitalist regions within the NationStates community. The current force is led by Field Marshal The Final Horseman.
History
The military was originally named the United Armed Forces and was established on 21 February 2016 with the ratification of the Constitution. Following a widespread lack of activity, experience and members, the force was proposed for "radical" change by Secretary Losinia, which was followed by the April Crisis. Secretary Atealia then took over the transition and officially changed its name to the Leftist Defence Force, condensing the number of ranks from 8 to 3 and changing the organisation's leadership structure.
Structure
The Field Marshal is occupied by the Minister of Defence, is the leader of the Leftist Defence Force and is responsible for overseeing all operations and ordering invasions on targets. A Captain is appointed by the Field Marshal and is responsible for being the endorsed nation in order to seize control of an invaded region and to help coordinate movements. A Private is any average soldier and is responsible for aiding operations by endorsing Captains in invaded regions.
