This article lists the political parties in the Laiatanese Federation.

Brief history and overview

Parties with representation

Currently, one party has dominated the political environment in Laiatan since 1996, maintaining a majority in the Federation Assembly as well as controlling the presidency. The party also controls a majority of upper and lower house seats within the oblasts, with a majority of governors also members of the party:

Party Description
Social Democratic Union
Социал-Демократический Союз
A big tent party which broadly covers the center-left with roots in the labor union movement. Champions the ideas of social democracy, liberalism, environmentalism, and progressivism.
Conservative Party
Консервативная партия
A party that can largely be split into two groups: the socially and economically conservative Republicans and the economically conservative yet less socially conservative Progressive Conservatives.
Liberal Party
Либеральная партия
Liberal and social liberal. Supports classic economic liberalism and progressive social policies.
Socialist Labor Union
Социалистический профсоюз
Socialist party. There is a group within the party that advocates for eco-socialism, environmentalism, and sustainability.
Monarchist Union Party
Партия монархического союза
Strongly supports re-establishing the monarchy that ruled over Laiatan for over 700 years until it was dissolved in 1888 after the fall of the junta.
