Methodology

Sample ballot paper.

Voting

Eligible voters cast their ballot on a single piece of paper displaying each of the candidates for their district, and place a cross next to each one that they approve of.

Counting

Each state elects 4 members to the Parliament of Llorens using the proportional approval voting method. The candidate with the most approval is elected first. Then, the value of all votes are re-evaluated, with this being done by dividing the original vote value (1) by the number of elected candidates a voter voted for plus one:

1/(n+1)

For example, if three elected candidates were all approved by a certain voter, the value of that voter's original vote would be divided by 3 (the number of elected candidates voted for) plus one. So essentially, the lowest vote value possible in this election is one-quarter of its original value.
