History

Design

The M-12A1 has a accessory rail system and mounting options for optics, lighting devices, and an under-barrel shotgun or grenade launcher. It is issued standard with a vertical foregrip that contains a drop-out bipod, and a see-through lightweight carry handle. The rifle and carbine will also accept a standard bayonet, which doubles as a soldier's field knife. The rifle's magazine is transparent, and holds 20 rounds of 7.62×51mm ammunition. It is capable of firing all standard 7.62×51mm ammunition, including ball, tracer, armor-piercing, incendiary, and so-called "magnum" loads. The barrel is a 1-in-10 right hand twist, and comes in either at 12-inch or 16-inch option. The 12-inch barrel is exclusively fit to the carbine variant.
