The Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrunian Rhuli (Rhuli Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqruniqqo, sign: ; code: MAR; also abbreviated MA$ or MA℘), or simply Rhuli, is the official currency of Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrun. It is divided into 100 smaller units called cents (centyq).

The Rhuli is fiat money. While only officially used in Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrun, it is also widely accepted in parts of Redentro near the border.

Relationship with the Redentran Dollar

The Rhuli is pegged to the Redentran Dollar on a one-to-one basis. The Department of the Treasury maintains the parity by using selective credit controls and changes in the discount rate and to some extent controlling the amount of the currency in circulation.

Although most currencies are subject to exchange control laws in Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrun, a special agreement with Redentro allows for these to be waived for conversions between the Redendran Dollar and the Rhuli. Registered merchants (most store owners) can exchange Redentran Dollars for Rhulis through the government, but individuals and private banks do not have this ability. As a result, banks will usually have a surcharge for converting between the currencies, but most stores will accept Redentran Dollars.

However, despite the wide acceptance of Redentran bills and the Redentran $1 and $4 coins, other coins are usually not accepted at most locations. This is because the Rhuli is divided into 100 cents, but the Redentran dollar is divided into 16 parts. Those merchants who do accept Redentran coins accept only the d4, d8, $1, and $4 coins as 25c, 50c, ℘1, and ℘4, respectively.

History

The Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrunian Rhuli became the official currency of Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrun upon its inception on January 2, 2014. Prior to this, the region was a protectorate of Redentro, and used the Redentran Dollar exclusively. Prior to that, under the government of Ainguximoqrun, the Ainguximoqrunian Rhuli was used.

The 5c and 10c coins are copper colored, the 20c and 50c coins are silver colored, and the ℘1 and ℘2 coins are gold colored.

All bills display the denomination on both sides, and the ℘ symbol, as well as the text "Vanak ke Mhuvalja-Ainguximoqrun" on both sides and the text "Qur erax leccis qqiner aph omna deptuq aba publika luy privaty" on the back.

The ℘1 bill is blue and depicts government house #3 on the front, and two dolphins jumping out of the water on the back. The ℘5 is green and depicts Alanoq hill on the front and a snake in a patch of dirt on the back. The ℘10 is yellow and depicts the Lorga River on the front and a chickadee on the back.
