Micronation
Micronations are "nations" lacking international recognition as a state. True to their name, micronations often involve only small plots of land; they may even claim certain aspects of real states, like "official" flags, currency and passports, but such things are useless if established countries refuse to accept them. Micronations differ from unrecognized states, which are organic, declared states without recognition, and microstates, which are geographically small countries that do hold international recognition. Generally, micronations are the projects of a single declared leader with a small group of followers. There are potentially thousands of micronations in the NS world; they are the subject of an issue entitled "@@NAME@@ Is Never Ever Getting Back Together... Like Ever" (#466).
