The Royal Imperial Empire of Johsteken is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Imperial High Prince John S Kenish with an iron fist, and renowned for its rampant corporate plagiarism, parental licensing program, and restrictive gun laws. The compassionate, cynical, humorless population of 2.076 billion Johstekens are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government prioritizes Law & Order, although Education, Administration, and Defense are also considered important, while Spirituality isn't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aplistia. The average income tax rate is 83.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Johstekenish economy, worth 197 trillion Puns a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism. Average income is 94,915 Puns, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

A sledgehammer and a spray can are seen as the default tools of political debate, naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure, the question of 'what is Imperial High Prince John S Kenish's favorite color?' has been given a priority rating of burnt-orange, and the monarchy has adopted absolute primogeniture. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Johsteken's national animal is the dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
