The Empire of Stormskythe is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its enslaved workforce, ubiquitous missile silos, and soft-spoken computers. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 287 million Stormskytheans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The relatively small, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Industry, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 19.4%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Stormskythean economy, worth 24.2 trillion Cytexes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, broadly diversified black market in Tourism, Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Arms Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 84,398 Cytexes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Leader's peyote-induced "let's all just be friends" speech is trending world-wide, fearful citizens watch their every move as does their government, mantis shrimp studies is academia's fastest growing field, and the endangered saltwater humpback Tyranid is only seen in captivity programs. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Stormskythe's national animal is the Tyranid, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Stormskythe is ranked 23,727th in the world and 786th in the Pacific for Largest Manufacturing Sector, scoring 14,453.84 on the Gooback-Jerbs Productivity Index.
