About Graustarks

The Dictatorship of Graustarks is a large, orderly nation, renowned for its compulsory military service and complete lack of prisons. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 56 million Graustarksians are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The medium-sized, corrupt, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, although Industry, Public Transport, and Healthcare are also considered important, while Spirituality and International Aid are ignored. The average income tax rate is 32.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The strong Graustarksian economy, worth 3.24 trillion Creds a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Cheese Exports and Arms Manufacturing. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are reasonably common. the Average income is 57,821 Creds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.6 times as much as the poorest.

Citizens are allowed to rise or fall based on their own merits, the world outside is only known of in folklore, and science centers and state of the art laboratories are ubiquitous. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Spreading religion is often frowned upon.


Nuclear Triad

Graustarks maintains a nuclear triad comprised of a sea, land, and air deterrent based on Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs), intercontinental ballistic missiles, and heavy bombers. Although it mainly focuses on SLBMs and heavy bombers.


Military Branches

The Graustarksian Armed Forces are made up of the four armed service branches: Air Force, Armor, Infantry and Navy. Graustarks mainly focuses on Air Force and navy, sometimes Armor, While infantry are quite low.


Navy

Name: The Graustarkian Navy (GN) The Graustarkian navy, Being a Blue Water Navy. Consists of 70 ships in the Navy. 18 of the vessels are major surface combatants (six guided missile destroyers and 13 frigates) and 10 are nuclear-powered submarines (four ballistic missile submarines and six fleet submarines). In addition the Navy possesses a landing platform helicopter, four amphibious transport docks, 15 mine countermeasures vessels and 22 patrol vessels.


Air Force

Name: The Graustarkian Air Force (GAF1) The Graustarkian Air Force consists of 215 aircraft, 60 of them being F-16 Fighting Falcons, 25 being MiG-29s, 70 F-15E Strike Eagles, 10 Lockheed C-5 Galaxys, 15 Boeing C-17 Globemaster IIIs and 35 USAF Rockwell B-1 Lancers.


Infantry

Name: The Graustarkian Armed Forces (GAF) The Graustarkian Armed Forces consists of 65,000 low equipped units. With only half of them being useable at any time, The GAF has but a mere 5 very basic types of infantry, Light infantry, Heavy infantry, Grenadier, Marksman and Paratrooper.

Light infantry equipment: Compass, SA80 equipped with a TA31RCO scope, GPS, Sometimes an AN/AVS-6, H4855 Personal Role Radio, M18 smoke grenade and a Glock-20.

Heavy infantry equipment: Compass, M4 equipped with an EOTech holographic sight, GPS, AN/AVS-6, M67 grenade, M18 smoke grenade, H4855 Personal Role Radio and a SIG Pro.

Grenadier equipment: Compass, AG36 grenade launcher mounted to a G36 A2 rifle with EOTech holographic sights attached to the gun, GPS, Sometimes an AN/AVS-6, H4855 Personal Role Radio, M18 smoke grenade and a Glock-20.

Marksman equipment: Compass, L115A3 Long range 'sniper' rifle equiped with a VX-3i 4.5-14x50mm (30mm) Side Focus scope, Sometimes a ATN Thor 4.5x 60Hz if needed, AN/AVS-6, GPS, H4855 Personal Role Radio, M18 smoke grenade and a SIG Pro.

Paratrooper equipment: A parachute, Compass, SA80 equipped with a TA31RCO scope, GPS, Sometimes an AN/AVS-6, H4855 Personal Role Radio, M18 smoke grenade and a Glock-20.


Armor

Name: The Graustarkian Armored Division (GAD) The GAD consists of 154 challenger 2 tanks and 38 FV 214 Conquerors. Tanks are often transported by amphibious transport docks and Lockheed C-5 Galaxys.
