The Only True Empire of Haakonsson, commonly refereed to as Haakonsson, is a sovereign nation located in North America, occupying parts of the prior regions of New England, Quebec, Ontario, and the maritime provinces. The ruler is Holy Chancellor Sjurd Haakonsson, whom the nation is named after.

The Empire of Haakonsson is a tiny, orderly nation, notable for its compulsory military service, frequent executions, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 7 million Haakonssonians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 32.0%.

Haakonsson's geography ranges from coastal plains in the east, to the Appalachian mountain ranges in the south and central, to arctic in the north. In the White Mountains of New Hampshire County is the tallest mountain of the empire, Mt. Washington (6,288.2 ft). Mt. Washington is home the Holy Palace at its summit, which is the Chancellors residence. The summit is known for experiencing the most extreme weather on earth. On a clear day visibility can reach up to 200 miles in any direction.

Much of the lands of Eastern Haakonsson lay vast swamps, wetlands, and cranberry bogs. Cranberries are the official food of the empire. The southeastern shores are known for their beauty and relative isolation. Cape Cod Protected Seashore in the far southeast attracts nearly 100,000 visitors annually, and became the first Nation Public Park in 2030.

As of the 2030 census, there were 7,343,982 citizens residing in Haakonsson. Of these, 96.3% were White or Aryan. Christian Identity is the official state religion with 95.4% of the population actively members of the church. French and Old Norse are the official languages. 71% of residents speak French, while 20% speak at least moderate English, and 8% speak Old Norse.

Haakonsson is known for its numerous human rights violations since the founding of the nation.

Following the Great World War, a period of ethnic cleansing and genocide were committed. More than 2,000,000 were slaughtered and near complete eradication of non-Christian and all minority races was completed. Haakonsson controlled six major concentration camps, including the infamous Mattawean State Hospital, New York which became the site of the largest camp where more than 1,000,000 were killed by gas chamber. As Christian-Identity became the supreme religion, the remaining groups of minorities were transferred to lands in remote areas of Canada where survival would be near impossible. It is estimated about 20,000 live in scattered villages across the former nation of Canada. Nouveau Québec is the Capital and largest city in the empire. Nouveau Québec was renamed from Montreal after incorporation into the new empire following the Great World War.

In 2031, the Haakonsson Empire Supreme Laws were signed into law by Chancellor Haakonsson which forbid all non-white humans from ever becoming citizens, forbid most basic freedoms, made Christian Identity the official and sole religion of the empire.

Executions, including public mass executions are common place. Most crime is punishable by imprisonment, slavery, or death. Common crimes for execution include; stealing, blasphemy, race mixing, advocating or participating in homosexual activity, murder, and protesting the supreme ruler.
