The United States of Insui is a massive, genial nation, ruled by President Mia Amero with an even hand, and notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.065 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Insui City. The average income tax rate is 63%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The government's religious works are headed by a New Age guru, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, the police crack down on tax evaders without mercy, and the rich are forced to sell their cars to pay for more police to prevent their cars from being stolen. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Insui's national animal is the Black Panther, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Amero.
