The Empire of Gaalsien (Agaani: Imperium av Gaalsien) is a powerful, interstellar empire in The Gaalsien nebula. Gaalsien consists of 30 Duchies Duchies, and 4 Grand Duchies. Approximately 240 billion people live within the borders of Gaalsien, of which a majority (66%) are ethnically Agaani, while the other 34% are from other various cultures and ethnicities. The Gaalsien Nebula has been inhabited for Billions of years, but the people who would eventually become Gaalsien came into existence around 500 million years ago, were called the Agaani, whom descended from the Ancestors.
Gaalsien became a unified state in 0 AU, after defeating a species called The Menace, known more as the Xaera. The then new Gaalsien Kingdom would eventually unify the space of modern Gaalsien.

he Gaalsien Empire resides in a Nebula known as the Cathedral of Gaalsien which measures around 3k x 5k light years. This Nebula has a charged border region that is typically 1-2 light years thick at the least and 4 light years thick at the most. This charged border region results in almost complete sensor loss, with most sensors being blind at +500,000 kilometers. The system features a network of stations and "Gates" built by a Precursor race, with the most notable being The Foundry. The Capital of Gaalsien lies in the Gaalsien system deep in the heart of the Nebula. The Nebula is mainly a red-ish pink color, and is notable for its high luminosity when compared to the larger Ashen Nebula, both of which are on either side of the Harbenian Corridor.
The Gaalsien System is the home of the Gaalsien Empire. Housing the location of two sentient species, The Gaalsien and the Agaani. The System has 8 planets, 3 of which are Gas Giants. The two inhabited planets in the system are Agaan and Jove. Agaan is a terrestrial planet, with a thick atmosphere that blocks most of the Ultraviolet radiation from the volatile star at the center of the system, Agaan was heavily forested prior to industrialization. It is now covered in valley cities and thick impassable forests, in which thin routes of civilization connect the giant cities. Jove meanwhile is a massive water world, with oceans that reach up to 24 kilometers deep. No sizable land masses exist, the islands that do are small. Large raging storms sweep across regions of ocean with little obstruction.

The Government of Gaalsien is a Theocratic Monarchy. While traditionally it has been Matriarchal, it isn't limited to just female Monarchs. The Government is lead by a Keiserinne, and advised by a committee of religious ministers. The government rules over a vast collection of duchies, each with its own priest/priestess. Every time the current ruler dies, their descendant replaces them, usually under the same surname. In the entire history of 2000 year history of modern Gaalsien, there has been 3 monarchs. Gaalsie I, Gaalsie II, and the currently ruling Gaalsie III are the three monarchs of the 2000 year history of Gaalsien. While the Gaalsien line goes even farther back, Gaalsie I is the first monarch of Kiith Gaalsien.

The Gaalsien Armed Forces are a collection of departments in the Gaalsien military under the command of the Keiserinne and Commandant. The Gaalsien Armed Forces consists of the Hær(Army), Keiserligemarinen(Imperial Navy), and the Æresvakt(Honor Guard). Each of these groups are divided down even further, and there are even divisions that don't fall under these groups or cross in between. Many details are missing from the Gaalsien Armed Forces, as there is not sufficient intelligence on them at the moment.

Demographics
With 240 Billion inhabitants, The Gaalsien Nebula is extremely sparse when compared to more dense nations like the Terran Federation and the Cironean Empire. It is however, the most diverse of the Empires in the Milky Way, followed closely by the Qvircillighi. Gaalsien is an outlier in terms of natural births, with a fertility rate higher than most other species, mainly due to the extension of "Child-bearing years". Most species in the Gaalsien Empire can live up to 1,000 years.
The most populous group, at 66%, is the Agaani People, which originate from the capital world of Agaan. Agaani stand at about 6'7", but are known to have an upper limit of around 8'0". They typically possess pale white skin, with traditionally white hair. Agaani also possess a tail, which can range wildly in length depending on the individual. The Agaani also possess UV-reflective eyes, which result in a pitch black Sclera and Pupil, with a green iris that ranges from 5mm in thickness to about 13mm of width depending on the state of aperture. Iris colors that differ from green are rare, with blue being the second most common, and black being the least common.

Jovean
12% of the population of Gaalsien is part of the Jovean group of Organism, originating from a terraformed world of the past, the Gaalsien were uplifted by a race of beings simply called the Creators, who seeded life in the Gaalsien Nebula. The Gaalsien are a species of Giant Octopi found on Jove in the Gaalsien System. The Gaalsien measure about 4-5 meters from the tip of their tentacles to the tip of their mantle. They possess 8 tentacles, and are from the Enteroctopus genus. They are typically a red color, but can change their color at will.
Engler
12% of the Gaalsien population are members of the Engler(Singular: Engel) species. The Engler are from a system known as Tartarus. They are usually about 7'0", but can reach a maximum of about 7'4". Every member of the species possesses a pair of Antlers, Four elongated ears, a Tail, and are Digitigrade. The Engler species is split even further into Light Englers and Dark Englers. Light Englers tend to have extremely pale skin, and lack spines on their tails, they also have regular scleras, though their pupils can contract similar to that of a cat's pupils. Meanwhile the Dark Engler have pitch black scales, possess spines on their tail, and have a UV protective film over their eyes. They possess extensive bioluminescent markings, which are typically used to tell ones lineage, as markings tend to be similar between family members. Their eyes are also bioluminescent, and almost always match the same color as the rest of the markings. They are regarded as some of the best hunters in the entirety of Gaalsien, and are typically in "Hunter Pairs" in the Haer.
Covorian
Around 5% of the population is part of the Covorian Race. These humanoids are the only ones in Gaalsien to possess wings and other bird-like properties. They stand around normal human height, 6' for males, 5'7" for females respectively, with a wingspan of 4.5 to 5 meters. They possess avian eyes, and are capable of seeing as far as the curvature of their planet will allowed, around 5.3 kilometers. Their hearing and scent detection are also increased. Unlike the other humanoids, Covorians don't possess a protective UV film over their eyes. The Covorians mainly live in poverty on Covorus, with a big wealth gap between those who run the vast shipyards in the canyons, and those who work their. The Covorian Unemployment race is quite high, standing around 16%, and is the reason why Gaalsien has a rather high unemployment rate when compared to their previous eras. Despite popular belief in Gaalsien, Covorians don't lay eggs.

Religion in Gaalsien boils down to one singular religion, Guds vilje, Will of the Gods. This religion is forced onto those in the Empire, which has lead to several purges of the Slanger, who didn't conform to the requirements of the religion. The Religion is based around 12 gods/goddesses and some other Celestial Beings. The worship of these gods varies throughout the empire, some colonies worship specific gods more. The fanatical worship of this religion has resulted in the construction of massive monuments in the honor of specific deities. The largest of these monuments is the Katedralen i Gaalsien, the largest building on the Homeworld in overall land area. This monolithic structure is a web of smaller buildings, with the 12 largest sections being dedicated to the 12 gods/goddesses. Most Colonies have some sort of place of worship, and are typically one of the first buildings in a settlement. Lembrina-monumentet is currently the largest Monument to a deity that isn't a building in Gaalsien. This massive metallic statue represents Lembrina, a Goddess who represents Gaalsien's Capital, Gaalsien. Hiigara, Taiidan, Kadesh, and various other gods/goddesses also have large monuments, but Lembrina's remains the largest and most prominent.
