HISTORY OF LYCRABON
Lycrabon Beginnings
Canadian and American politicians alienated many citizens throughout most of the 20th century, and a small group of them - David Grant and Davis among them - organized a revolt against the US government. In July of 1984, the twenty leaders started (with their respective divisions) the revolution with a simultaneous attack on Parliament in Ottawa and in federal buildings throughout Canada and the upper US midwest. By the fall of 1984, American and Canadian forces were deeply on the ropes. Over four days that December, a US delegation, the new country's delegation, and a Canadian delegation hammered out an agreement to give the rebels the country they desired.
In January of 1985, leaders of the successful revolution met to draft a constitution and form the provinces that would form the new nation. The lands west of Ontario weren't quite ready for formation, but the divisions were drawn up for their eventual creation. The first provinces created were North Royalton, Newcastle, and East Ontario. In 1986, the Windsor, Algoma and West Ontario provinces were created.
Continued Growth
The other order of business was the first president. David Grant was unanimously chosen among the groups 5-0 in an unopposed vote. It was decided that presidental terms would run 6 years, with elections the November prior, with only the first-ever term being 7 years. In Grant's first term, that meant his first election was in 1991.

Growth of the Nation
Grant's first term saw an explosion of province formation, as groups carved out their sections of land. Within five years, the country would expand to 25 provinces.

The First Election
In 1991, the now 29-province nation was excited to have their first official election, and six parties - plus an independent candiate - started the march for the leadership. Tragedy struck during the campaign's early days as Independent candidate Nathan Robinson crashed on a snow covered road in New Labrador, succumbing to blunt force injuries. The party chose to not replace him on the ticket, and as they had not chosen a vice-presidential candidate, did not run anyone. President Grant won a second term by a fair margin over Continental Party candidate Marcus Johnson, 16 provinces to 9.

Grant's Second Term, and Second Election
Part of Grant's re-election platform was to get the country to at least 45 provinces. By year four, he succeeded in that.

- 1994: 4
- 1995: 4

The second campaign was much more feisty and tightly contested, as a Grant win would guarantee a new president the next time. Grant would eventually get his third term, though only by two provinces, 19-17 over Joe Brady of the Workers Party.

LYCRABON COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (LCAA)
Conference affiliations have remained fairly constant from the creation of the LCAA. There are a handful of school in football, baseball and softball that play in conferences that are different from their primary. Hockey only has one conference with a majority of teams that are full members (Big Ten); all of the others are from multiple conferences normally. Varsity sports contested are Football, Soccer, and Field Hockey in the fall; Basketball and Ice Hockey in the Winter; and Lacrosse, Softball, and Baseball in the spring.
The Association was founded in 1892 with 140 members, but was disbanded and reformed with a new history in 1985 with 321 members.
