Etymology
Martinesia is the name given to the massive landmass and its smaller island chains that surround it but that name was also translated into the federal union that was created among all the constituent states occupying the Continent of Martinesia. Martinesia is guessed to have originated from the name of "Silas Martinez" who as a famous Spanish mariner that first discovered the new continent of Martinesia. Thus, "Martinez" becomes "Martinesia."
