Etymology
The name of Nolgaria is possibly, according to many, derived from Nolga and Hyria. Nolga was the name of a common folk-hero in Caucasian Rus and was considered a martyr for freedom, due to his execution after he led a revolt against the Tsar. "Hyria" has come across with translation trouble but it is alleged to be "Bulgarian" for "station." Thus, it is supposed to mean, "station, footstool, or resting place of Nolga."
