The Confederated Territories of Skaveria is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by President Connor Irsky with a fair hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants, multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, and infamous sell-swords. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 1.06 billion Skavs live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business, outspoken individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Environment, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Povstani. Income tax is unheard of.

The strong Skavish economy, worth 125 trillion Units a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Book Publishing, and Information Technology.
