The National Gallery is an art museum located in Atlantis, capital of the Empire of Diadochia. Founded in 1819, it houses a collection of over 2,500 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900. The Museum is housed in a huge palatial building on Poseidonion, that is crowned with a an octagonal dome. The Museum was commissioned by Emperor Nikolas V of Diadochia in order to find a suitable shelter for the formidable art collection of the Imperial family of Diadochia, and to make it accessible to the general public. The façade was built of sandstone. The building is rectangular in shape, and topped with a dome that is around 60 meters high. The inside of the building is lavishly decorated with marble, stucco ornamentations, gold-leaf, and thousands of paintings.
