Oaloanu Tamasolo Aoteatua Ulua, mononymously known as Oaloanu, is the incumbent and inaugural Emperor of Polynesia.

Early years

Oaloanu was born in 1985, on the 26th of October, in the Tomaoaeni Palace. He was born to Eleanor of Staynes and former Defender of The Oan Isles, Ese Ulua. He is the second son born to the pair. His older brother, his only sibling, is Tahaloanu. He is a distant relative of the incumbent sovereign of Great Morstaybishlia, Lambertus VII. The prince had a healthy and happy, but private upbringing. He was raised by his mother in the Tomaoaeni Palace, for much of his childhood. He was taught privately at home. Upon completion of his studies in 2003, he scored well on his Matriculation Final Exams and received an apprenticeship certificate in carpentry.

He enrolled in and was accepted in the Oan Defence Force in 2004 and completed his training in 2005. He served in the Terrestrial Defence Forces until 2007, when he retired as a Captain. While his brother pursued a military career, he chose to study law, and acquired his L.L.B degree (a Bachelor of Laws) from the National University of The Oan Isles via correspondence. From 2012 to 2016, he helmed the Ulua Foundation. He was instrumental in expanding the organisation and founding the Oan National Aid Agency (popularly and commercially known as OANAID).

Political career

In 2016, Oaloanu was picked, instead of his older brother, to be the heir apparent to the Chieftainship of the Ianotunu Tribe and head of the Ulua Clan. Rumour had it that this caused tension with his brother. Joint appearance proved the contrary to be true. He assumed the leadership of the Ulua Trust. He was instrumental in acquiring a large stake in (and subsequently splitting) the Metatron Corporation and expanding his family's stake in the Standard National Bank.

He was the primary mediator between state and opposition fighters during the 2016 Islander Civil War. After repeated failure to get the two sides to agree, he managed to encourage them to sign a ceasefire that came into effect in April 2017.

He assumed more of his father's duty, until he was appointed the Regent in May 2017. He subsequently assumed emergency powers as a state of emergency had been declared since February of that year. He assumed the duties of the head of state, head of government and head of the military. He represented his father at a meeting between the former Monoherra of the Asian Pacific Islands Markka IV, Mister Leader II of Mexregiona, Calvin the I of The Atlae Isles, and Bartholomew Jackson of Tretrid to solicit their support for the war. This was among the factors that catalysed the formation of the Atlantian Alliance.

He led his country and defined its policies through the Auroran-Pacific War. Upon the declaration of a ceasefire in the War for Yor, the Oan Isles withdrew its forces, lent finances and manpower to support the PeaceKeepering Forces of Urth's Demilitarised Zone between the SCE, and the Greater Xagrurgian Empire, and offered support to rebuild South Yor.

A Commission of Inquiry was set up by the National Assembly to investigate abuses and failures in the War for Yor, to assess whether or not participating in such a war was in contravention of the Oan constitution and whether the war was a prudent use of funds and an overreach of the Defender's Office. The Commission has been criticised as unconstitutional and a whitewash. It was subsequently disbanded. Among its first acts, it cleared Oaloanu of all responsibility in the war.

The Partition of The Oan Isles occurred in August 2017. Oan Gondwana held a referendum and chose to separate from the Oan Isles. It was reformed into East Polynesia. Tranquility Province and Harmony Province held a referendum thereafter and followed suit. They declared independence and were reformed into Konoa. He was declared their head of state and assumed the title of the Emperor of Polynesia.

Fighting resumed in the Asian Pacific Islands. A boy was tried for terrorism. This sparked mass protests and fighting continued. He supported the Konoa People's Army and the Islander People's Militia. This forced the state to surrender. A peace agreement was signed between the two sides in September 2017. A new constitution was declared and was declared their head of state, as the new Emperor of Polynesia.

Emperor

He was declared the Emperor at the end of September. He was presented with the regalia of his office by former Monoherra, Markka IV, Mauia Uweleye, Locklyn Le Roy and Procyne Chief, Panama III in a quiet ceremony at the Serene Palace. He assumed his duties and appointed his son, Moanu, as the heir apparent, with the approval of the Council of the Union.

He signed the Viceregal Succession Decree that passes the Viceroyalty of the Asian Pacific Islands to the descendants of Markka IV, and subsequently establishes the House of Markka. He gave Markka IV, the Viceregal Baton in November 2017 and appointed the various Viceroys of the constituent countries of the Polynesian Union.

He accepted the resignation of the National Council that has ruled since 2013. A new National Council was elected by the National Assembly. He announced the results in early December 2017.

Personal life

Oaloanu. Black and White. By Aola Wanotiye

Oaloanu is not married. He has a child with deceased Chiropractor at the La Rochelle Orthopedic Centre, Michel Sanaye. His name is Moanu. He is 2 years old and lives with his grandmother on his mother's side. Oaloanu is said to be a fairly active father, visiting him once every four months. He has no romantic interest at the present.

He is a devout Christian. He practices and adheres to the Polynesian branch of Protestantism. He has friendly relations with Mauia Uweleye, the Leader of Konoa, Markka IV of the Asian Pacific Islands, Queen Naomi II of Kuthernburg and Lambertus of Staynes.

Philanthropy

He was the head of the Ulua Foundation. The foundation allows the Ulua family to support worthy causes and give their money to charity. The foundation sent humanitarian aid to Kostoria-Obertonia the 2017 Auroran-Pacific War, the foundation also supported Imperial Fandom and Bielarus in Aurora in 2013. It also sent aid to Marpa and to Yor.

He helped found the Oan National Aid Agency. It sold shirts to support the recovery of Latianburg after the devastating terrorist attacks of the Al Jaheed. This organisation has helped expand and redefine the Oan foreign aid framework. It created a more intimate means of sending foreign aid to poor and war afflicted countries.

Wealth

Oaloanu has an estimated wealth of 10 billion dollars. This number is disputed. Some specialists push it up to 20 billion while some bring it down to 1 billion. Most of his wealth is tied up in bonds, property and shares, which fluctuate in value erratically. He inherited the Tomaoaeni Palace, as a personal inheritance for himself. He inherited its collection of art and expensive ornaments. He receives 50 million dollars, which is used to run his office and carry out his work.

Political Positions

Oaloanu is a public and vocal monarchist. He supports the "divine right to rule" and firmly believes in the Mandate of Heaven. He supports democracy and is rather mercurial on specific policy issues. This aloofness has allowed him to remain above political positions in spite of his personal opinion.

Personal traits

He is calm and well spoken. He is logical thinker. Some observers have pointed him out to be cold and stoic. Some have even gone so far as to call him uncaring and grandiose.
