Krater (Greek: Κρατῆρ) is province of Rethymnon located in the southernmost tip of the country. It is Rethymnon´s fourth largest state in terms of size and population, with an area of 23,677,095.41 square kilometres (9,141,777.48 sq mi) and 1 billion inhabitants. The provincial capital and largest city is Ekthelion, one of Rethymnon´s most important cities.
Etymology
Krater literally means 'Crater' in Greek and it is named after the crater that was made during the crash of the HCF17-07 whose survivors founded the city of Ekthelion, capital of the province.
