Arsed

Arsed is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations.

In Arsed, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Denizens are flush with political freedom, although competing opinions often mean that political gridlock is the norm. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 81%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the public sector, with on average only 46% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce is a major priority of national governments within the region, most of whom are trading nations, as is evidenced by the fact that commerce budgets account for an average of 16% of public expenditure in the region.

Arsed values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 5% of total government budgets.

Governments in Arsed communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 4% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments bestow their healthcare departments with a gargantuan amount of funding, with an average of 16% of government budgets across the region being heaped on to healthcare. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

In Arsed, denizens benefit from a good balance of social equality and motivation for advancement, although aspiration is the priority. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
